As one of the four main summit areas of focus, education is an integral piece in improving the lives of Latinos in the state of Oregon. OLAA strongly endorses Tuition Equity. CAUSA of Oregon and allies have been arduously working on this bill. Here's their press release:

Today, the Oregon State Senate voted 18 to 11 to pass Senate Bill 742, Oregon’s Bipartisan Tuition Equity Bill. The bill now moves on to the Oregon State House for approval.
![]() We need to take action immediately to ensure that the Oregon State House follows suit and passes this important legislation. Please call your State Representative and the House Leadership TODAY and tell them you support Tuition Equity for Oregon and would like them to support it, too.

Community Spotlight
Cultivando Liderazgo is a ten-hour leadership training culturally tailored for rural Latino populations as part of the Ford Institute Leadership Program.
RDI has facilitated Latino leadership trainings in over 20 communities in Oregon and four other states. These trainings are dynamic, informative, and relevant to Latino traditions in rural communities.
Cultivando Liderazgo is intended to increase unity among Latinos in the community, to increase Latino participation in the community, and to develop the dreams that the participants have for their community life.
